Community Experiment Part Deux

Published by admin at 12:52 am under Goals, Personal Development

My last experiment with intention-manifestation was a smashing success, and I’d like to try another community experiment if anyone’s interested in playing along. This round of the experiment will run from August 1 to August 31. (Any interest in doing a longer time frame next time around, maybe September 1 to December 31?)

Here’s a refresher on how to participate:

  • Find a place to be alone. (You’ll need a pencil and a piece of paper.)
  • Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and relax.
  • Look inward and ask yourself you’d like to achieve/manifest by August 31.
  • Open your eyes and start writing ideas as they come to you.
  • Once you have a few possibilities, select the one that you feel most passionately about. It also needs to be something you can truly believe in.
  • Write a specific goal statement, which ends with “Make it so!”
  • Read your statement out loud with as much feeling and conviction as possible. Feel that mental “click” as you DECIDE to achieve your goal.
  • Leave a comment or send me an email to let me know that you’re participating (you don’t have to disclose your goal).
  • Be on the watch throughout the month of August for the manifestation of your goal. It may not appear in the form you’re expecting…
  • Report back and let us know how you did!

My goal is to receive $500 from sources other than my salaried income by August 31, 2008. Make it so!

I wanted to try a money goal not because I need $500, but because needing money in order to feel “secure” is something that holds me back from pursuing writing full-time. It’s hard for me to contemplate leaving a regular paycheck for the uncharted (and potentially unpaid) waters of the writing profession. Knowing that I can “manifest” money would be a huge confidence boost when it comes to taking the plunge and quitting the old day job!

What goal did you choose and why?

I may try this technique in order to reach a goal in a month’s time. It sounds empowering and seemingly successful. But why I really decided to respond is due to your specific goal. You want to be a full-time writer and I admire that. I am in college still, but dream of some day pursuing that same dream. This response section may not be the proper place, but I would love to hear about what you have chosen to do following college. I understand the high stakes of leaving a steady job in order to pursue writing full-time. Any advice for a university student who is tired of hearing “Are you going to teach?” in response to her statement of “I’m an English major”.

If you have a chance to respond, you’re more than welcome to email me instead of respond here. Ktqt831@hotmail.com
    I appreciate it. Thanks!

I’m in! This sounds like a great way to work toward something we really desire.

I’m in! I want a parking space under my building before the winter time. I have to park kind of far away right now and it gets cold! The waiting list is long:)

So, I want a parking space under my building, make it so!

I plan on doing some serious visualizing and send up some prayers at the same time. I will drive by there in the morning and think about driving into the parking garage. I am going to sign up on the waiting list today, I will take my friend who is friendly with the attendant :)

Well, it finally hit me (took 4 days), but I finally had my ‘goal moment’. I have a number of goals working in the background already, and for some reason couldn’t pin down something that I really wanted ‘manifested’ this month. But when it hit me, it was like a smack up side the head. In all the changes I have made the last couple years, money is not the prime goal for me, and I continue to make personal changes in stages, but during this process (which I am forever thankful for)….I have managed to distance myself from all my friends. My family, my friends, no one seems to relate to me anymore in a way that is aligned with my current way of thinking and goals. I still enjoy time with them, but there is something lacking.

So I have goal manifested meeting new people this month with similar ideas. Done

I’m in. this is very timely for me. a recent trip to SE Asia encouraged me to go ahead with an idea i was interested in to volunteer there next year, with the applications due at the end of the month. so i aim to apply for two volunteer positions, and to extend the goal, to apply for a paid position- i loved it there so much i know i def want to get there, and why not try a few paths
