Day 22 of Month 359
The past few days have been… not so great. Nothing catastrophic happened, but I’m still coming out of the hormonal cataclysm of stopping hormonal birth control so it uh… well, it doesn’t take much. Friday was a huge day for me professionally. I proposed and pulled together a training initiative for the entire Directorate of the federal agency where I work. I was giving training for EIGHT HOURS with NO BREAK. I was completely drained by the end of the day, but it was a huge success and I got some great positive feedback on it.
Saturday was kind of a disaster. You know those cartoon characters with a storm cloud over their heads that follows them wherever they go? Yeah, that was me. I just felt so… BLAH all day. I was snappy and grumpy and generally not fun. Yesterday was much, much better, but still busy. I spent the day writing (YAY), cleaning, and cooking, and then went out for dinner. Today was possibly the busiest day I’ve ever had at work. I still have a full voice mailbox and over 100 unopened emails to wade through. Nightmare.
[Silver lining to the kinda-crappy weekend: I did my training runs on Saturday, Sunday, and today, and I can tell a huge difference in my stamina already!]
After a day like this, I’d typically come home, skip the meditation because my brain hurt, open a bottle of wine, and eat some comfort food. But not today–today I engaged in some healthy self-soothing. I did a short meditation, read the Experience Life magazine I won from MizFit (I can’t believe it’s already here!), and wrote for a while. Hooray for healthy stress-busting!
On a different and much lighter note, I need your help. My husband and I are going to a wedding this weekend, and I don’t know what to wear. The wedding is at 3pm, but the reception isn’t until 7pm and we’ll be hanging out with friends in the interim. I won’t be able to change clothes, so I need something that can carry me from afternoon into evening. Here are the contenders…
Contestant #1
Contestant #2

wish I had more time to comment on your post—but life calls (in the form of work now that TORNADO is in bed) .
Im in love with contestant number 3!
I agree with MizFit, #3 is absolutely beautiful! It’s spring colors and cheerful ~ just the thing to help you have a better day!
Congrats on the successful training, and I’m probably not much help, but I like all of the dresses. Though, I particularly like 1 and 3.
Sorry to hear about the crappy few days. Sounds like you’ve been pulling through quite admirably (and healthily!) though.
I like dress #1!
Bad days generally suck, but hopefully the week is off to a better start for you - Yay for the mood enhancing techniques that were ‘healthy’
As for dress contenders I have a question…is it an outdoors wedding/reception or indoors?
If indoors I would go with dress 3 (wouldn’t want to get sweaty/hot/sticky if your going to spend most time outdoors/under a tent) however I think if it outdoors or a mix I would go with 1. I think 1 would transition well from day to night. On the off chance that this is more of a dressy/formal thing I would go with 2, not my favorite choice, but black is pretty safe for formal invites.
Just my two cents

PINK ONE
Being a pink lover (it was one of my wedding colors even), I would normally go straight to number 3, but your description of events had me leaning to the ever faithful little black dress. However, majority here goes for 3, so I have committed to not committing on this one.
I’m all for #3. It’s pretty and more wedding-ish fun. The other two are practical which is not bad just not as panache-y
