Day 19 of Month 359

Published by admin at 11:37 pm under 101 Things

That means there are only 11 days until my 30th birthday. I think I need some air. Sigh. For some reason, this birthday is really getting to me.

Anyway, today was an incredibly difficult and loooong day at work. I was giving training for 8 hours straight–no lunch break or anything. I’m actually hoarse from talking all day. You’re getting a kind of lame picture for today because I’m tired and can’t think of anything else.

My sister made me this map for Christmas–it’s got pins in it for everywhere I’ve been (blue) and a few for places I want to go (red). I had always wanted to visit all 50 states by the time I was 30 but, as you can see, I’m not going to be making that goal. I’ve only been to 34 states (35 if you count DC).

Stupid birthday.

What an awesome map! I might need to make myself one of those.

Why be scared about 30? You seem happy, you like where you live, you’re making changes in your life when it comes to your job…you’ve accomplished a lot and you will CONTINUE to accomplish a lot!

30 is nothin’! A number. You are so much more than a number. Look at all you’ve done! You are an amazing woman helping others change their lives! You may have only been to 35 states so far, but I bet you touch that many people through your writing every day.

And I think 35 states is terrific. You are more than halfway there. Any vacation time coming up?

Plan a trip to celebrate and I bet you could cover a few more. You could do a driving trip through New England and knock out 3 or 4 states. You could do an Alaskan cruise. Most of those leave from Seattle or somewhere in Washington, I think. You could cover a couple of states that way. Maybe rent a car and drive down to Oregon while you’re at it.

I say all of this, of course, having no idea which states you haven’t been to yet.

Ultimately, it doesn’t matter when you reach the goal so long as you don’t give up on it and get there eventually.

    Hang in there!
